Kettlewell, Mary Ann

Mary Ann Kettlewell, Waupaca, WI, age 83 – passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 12, 2012 with her loving family at her side, following a seven year struggle with Lewy Body Dementia. She was born on August 26, 1928 in the Twp. of Saxeville, Waushara County, WI, the daughter of John and Effie (Petersen) Christensen. Following her mother’s death when Mary Ann was an infant, she was raised by her aunt and uncle, Rosie and Ovie Petersen. She married John F. Kettlewell on June 17, 1950 in Pine River, WI. Mary Ann is survived by her husband, John; children: Linda (Jim) Goddard of Waupaca; Wendy Kettlewell of Oak Harbor, WA; Dan (Penny) Kettlewell of Waupaca; Rebecca (Mike) Bartley of Milwaukee, and Karla (Jason) Williams of Sedro-Wooley, WA; daughter-in-law, Susan Kettlewell of Waupaca, eight grandchildren: Kelly (Kurt) Miller, Billy (Amanda) Kettlewell, Seth (Elizabeth) Kettlewell, Worth and Wyitt Goddard, Megan (Joey) Lemke, Tommy Kettlewell, and Carlee Borka, and great grandchildren: Hunter and Siera Miller, and Ana Kettlewell and her soon to be born infant brother. She is further survived by her brother Willard (Eileen) Christensen of Wautoma, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her son, Larry Kettlewell, her parents, and her aunt and uncle, Rosie and Ovie Petersen. Mary Ann was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses in Waupaca. She had taught school for a couple of years, but most of her life was spent as a homemaker and mother. She spent many years caring for others, and she enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family and friends. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 6:00 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI, with Alfred Ellison – Elder with the Jehovah’s Witnesses, officiating. Interment was in Lakeside Memorial Park Cemetery in Waupaca. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI assisted the family with arrangements. The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to Cooperative Care, Care Wisconsin, and ThedaCare @ Home Hospice for the loving care given to Mary Ann.
