Bradly Hardel’s three-pointer with a few seconds remaining on the clock sent the game into overtime, but the Iola-Scandinavia boys’ basketball team came up short in its rematch with Weyauwega-Fremont.
The Indians outscored the Thunderbirds 7-4 in the extra period and returned to Weyauwega with a 51-48 Central Wisconsin 8 Conference win.
W-F led 17-11 after one quarter and 28-23 at halftime. The teams combined for only 10 points in the third quarter, with the Indians taking a 34-27 lead into the final period.
The T-Birds outscored the visitors 17-10 in the final quarter and trailed 44-41 before Hardel’s three extended the game.
Hardel had a big night for I-S, as he led all scorers with 27 points. Tanner Ross led W-F with 17 points, while Calvin Swanson and Bryce Behn also finished in double figures with 16 and 10 points, respectively.
