Remington receives Patriot Award

The Wisconsin Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense, recently announced that Dean Remington, owner of Remington’s Foods, was recognized with a Patriot Award .

The award is given to businesses that support employees who serve in the Wisconsin Army National Guard.

SPC Logan May nominated Remington for the Patriot Award. May said that Remington has been supportive of all of his military duties and shows true interest in his military service. Upon hearing that SPC May was being deployed in February, Remington worked with him to ensure that he would do whatever he could to support him during his time overseas.

The ESGR Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize American employers who provide extraordinary patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation’s call to serve. Supportive employers are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s National Guard and Reserve units.

SPC May is grateful to Dean for his support of his military career.

“Dean exemplified himself as a manager, a leader and a person who gets things done,” May said. “I appreciate Dean’s support, both as an employee and as a National Guardsman. Thank you Dean!”

A Patriot Award recognizes an employer for his or her support of National Guard and Reserve members. Any service member can nominate their employer for a “Patriot Award” at www.esgr.org.
