First-round pairings have been announced for the state girls’ high school basketball tournament.
Subregional games in all five divisions are scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 6.
Matchups for the area’s 11 teams are:
Division 2: Marshfield Sectional: Shawano (No. 10 seed) at Waupaca (No. 7); Mosinee (No. 9) at Hortonville (No. 8); New London (No. 1),
has a first-round bye and will host Hortonville/Mosinee winner at 7
p.m. Friday, March 9.
Division 3: Ashwaubenon Sectional: Winneconne (No. 10) at Weyauwega-Fremont (No. 7); Clintonville (No 12) at Oconto Falls (No. 5).
Division 4: Waupaca Sectional: Iola-Scandinavia (No. 11) at Menasha St. Mary Central (No. 6); Manawa (No. 10) at Menominee Indian (No. 7); Amherst (No. 2) has first-round bye and will host No. 7 Marathon or No. 10 Three Lakes at 7 p.m. March 9; Wild Rose (No. 2) has a first-round bye and will host No. 8 Stevens Point Pacelli or No. 9 Rosholt at 7 p.m. March 9.
Division 5: Pulaski Sectional: Almond-Bancroft (No. 9) at Gresham (No. 8); Northland Lutheran (No. 13) at Marion (No. 4).
