Koehler, Leroy M.

Leroy Koehler, age 85, of Appleton, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Rennes Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was born on January 25, 1927, in Weyauwega, the son of the late Walter and Elsie (Miller) Koehler. On June 9, 1956, Lee married Geneva Redman in West Bloomfield, Wisconsin. He was a sales representative in the trucking industry for over 40 years in and around the Fox River Valley. Most of those years were with Spector Freight System and Carolina Freight. Lee was a long time member of St. Peters Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega and current member of Faith Lutheran Church in Appleton. He was a past president of the Fox Valley Traffic Club, former member of Ridgeway Country Club and member of Weymont Run Country Club. Lee will best be remembered for his terrific sense of humor for those who knew him. He enjoyed golfing with his friends and was always ready to participate in a good game of cards. He is survived by his loving wife, Geneva Koehler; two brothers: Werner (Jeanine) Koehler, Appleton and Duane (Elizabeth) Koehler, Weyauwega and sister-in-law, Joyce Christensen, Wautoma. Lee is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his sisters: Verona (Robert) Woldt, Loraine (Archie) Holcombe and Ardyce (Lee) DeBruin; mother-in-law, Rose Redman; brothers-in-law: Ronald Christensen and Douglas Redman and sisters-in-law: Doris (Gordon) Fenske and Ramona Gallegos. The funeral service for Leroy was held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Faith Lutheran Church, 601 E. Glendale Avenue, Appleton. Rev. James Wiebel officiated. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. A visitation was held at the Wichmann Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and again at the church on Wednesday morning from 10:00 am until the time of service. Memorials to Faith Lutheran Church are appreciated. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Rennes Health Care Center for your wonderful care of Lee.
