Raymond H. Spear, age 88, New London died on Thursday, March 1, 2012. Raymond was born on June 3, 1923, in Plainfield, son of the late Floyd and Lydia (Rudinger) Spear. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He served his country in WWII for the US Navy in the Pacific Front. Ray worked for Wisconsin Public Service for many years as a truck mechanic. He is survived by his wife Silvery; two daughters, Louise Spear, Los Angeles, CA; Nancy Spear, Minneapolis; a son, Robert (Claire) Spear, New London. Two grandchildren, Michael Spear, New London and Jennifer (Jordan) Tews, Greenville and two great grandchildren, Carter Tews and Calvin Spear. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother John. A Memorial service for Ray will be held today, Thursday, March 8, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London with Rev. Lucretia Fehrmann officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Full Military Rites will be held.
