Thompson, Joyce E.

Joyce E. Thompson, Waupaca, Wisconsin, age 85, was born to eternal life on March 7, 2012 surrounded by family.

Joyce was born in Iola, WI on September 2, 1926, daughter of Palmer Julian (P.J.) and Luella (Hanson) Wesley. She was united in marriage to Randall J. Thompson on October 13, 1945 in Waupaca. He preceded her in death on November 29, 1998.
Joyce worked at Ladish Company, Zwickers Knitting Mill, Erie Manufacturing, Willowcrest Care Center and Overhead Door Company. She was active in the Fellowship Baptist Church and the Ogdensburg Garden Club. Joyce loved children and cooking meals for her family. Her delicious pies will be missed by all of her family.
She is survived by three sons: Randall E. (Barbara) Thompson of Ogdensburg, WI; Ray (Jacquelyn) Thompson of Manawa, WI; and Charles (Nola) Thompson of Scandinavia, WI; four daughters: Ruth (Ronald) Komarek of Ogema, WI; Paula (Steve) Cournia of Richland Center, WI; Barbara (Peter) Jacobson of Ogema, WI, and Julie Ann Austin of Waupaca; one brother, Donald Wesley of King, WI; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is further survived by brothers-in-law: Arthur (Joanne) Thompson of Tucson, AZ; Marion (Annette) Thompson of AZ; Harold (Bernadine) Thompson Jr. of Milwaukee, WI; Marvin (Harleen) Thompson of Great Falls, MT, and sisters-in-law: Agnes Thompson, Waupaca; Louise Thompson, TN; and Gertrude Waller, Waupaca. She was preceded in death by her parents, Palmer Julian (P.J.) and Luella Wesley; her husband, Randall J. Thompson; an infant son, Paul Joseph; a grandson, Ronald Komarek Jr.; son-in-law, Robert (Augie) Austin; two brothers, Julian Wesley and David Wesley; three sisters-in-law: Betty Thompson, Ilean Wesley, Delores Wesley; and five brothers-in-law: Earl Thompson, Arnold Thompson, Donald Waller, Eugene Thompson, and Phillip Ray Thompson.
A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Waupaca, WI. Pastor Rick Anderson officiated. A visitation was held on Friday evening, March 9, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca and also at the church on Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM.
