Volunteers needed for Waupaca County SAVS

CAP Services’ Sexual Assault Victim Services (SAVS) program is seeking volunteers in Waupaca County.

Trained SAVS volunteers provide information and support to victims of sexual violence. They are contacted by and connected to CAP’s Family Crisis Center call center.

Applicants must complete a volunteer training curriculum before assuming these positions. All trained volunteers are supervised and supported by the SAVS staff.

Rebeckah Ripley, CAP’s local SAVS Victim Advocate, says volunteers provide a mix of services that include accompanying victims for medical care and court appointments, and sometimes providing presentations in schools and other community education sessions.

Volunteer time commitments vary. Ripley said CAP staff and volunteers have served more than 59 victims both male and female in Waupaca County this year.

Anyone interested in volunteering for the SAVS program and serving Waupaca County residents can contact Ripley at 715-258-9575 or [email protected] for an application and more information.
