Miller, Helen J.

Helen J. Miller, Waupaca, Wisconsin, age 80, died on Monday, April 9, 2012 at her residence. She was born March 20, 1932 in Weyauwega, WI, daughter of George and Ulabelle (Rohrbacher) Long. Helen married Louis A. Miller on May 1, 1948. They celebrated 60 years together shortly before his passing. Helen was a school bus driver for the Weyauwega-Fremont School district for over 20 years. She was very dedicated to her church in which she served in many different capacities over the years. Helen taught Sunday school and was the Sunday School Superintendent for many years. She was a very devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She spent endless hours making beautiful hand sewn quilts, entering many in the fair and winning many Blue ribbons and several Grand Prize awards. Helen is survived by: her children: Gerard (Joyce) Miller of Waupaca, WI; James (Joanna) Miller of Neenah, WI; Jeffery (Patricia) Miller of Waupaca, WI; Sandra (Fred) Yaekel of Waupaca, WI; son-in-law, Don Deike of Ripon, WI; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Hinds of Milwaukee, WI; sister-in-law, Polly Long of Neenah, WI. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ulabelle Long; her husband, Louis Miller; a daughter, Jeanne Deike; four sisters, Myrtle Laux, Evelyn Otto, Anita Oppor, and Vivian Oppor; and two brothers, Oscar Long and Lloyd Long. A Funeral Service will be on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the First Assembly of God Church in Waupaca, WI. Reverend Bob Bohn will officiate. A visitation will be held on Friday evening, April 13, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca and again on Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will be at Spencer Lake Memorial Park following the service on Saturday. A memorial has been established in the name of Helen J. Miller. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements. A very special thank you to Theda Care at Home Hospice for all of the great care they provided for our mother.
