Irene B. Uttech, Waupaca, WI (formerly of Oshkosh, WI) age 94, a resident of Park Vista in Waupaca died Monday, April 9, 2012. She was born on September 27, 1917 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Fred and Mary Bergstrom. She married Leonard C. Uttech on July 24, 1943 in Oshkosh, WI. He preceded her in death. Irene is survived by three daughters: Penny Zander (special friend: Julie Payette) of Oconto, Cynthia (David) Cate of Waupaca, and Kathy (Ron) Wenzel of Oshkosh; grandchildren: Anna Hagman, Steve (Dana) Zander, Jennifer Zander, Scott (Tammy) Waltz, Todd (Leigh) Waltz, Chad Wenzel, and Kira Wenzel; step-grand-children: Lisa (Shawn) McCann, Denise (Jeff) Maiman, Tracy (Rick) Hanson, and Dan (Cindy) Cate; seven great grandchildren, and nine step-great grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends at Park Vista in Waupaca and Venture Out in Florida. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers, and a sister. Irene had been a Unit Clerk and a nursing assistant at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh for many years. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Oshkosh and had been an active member of the Grace Forever Young group. She had been a reading buddy at Grace Lutheran School in Oshkosh. She was a 25 year member of the Venture Out Choir in Cudjoe Key, FL where she and Leonard spent their winters. While living in Waupaca she attended Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Waupaca, with Reverends Loren Fritz and Paul Bowe, officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. Interment of the cremains will be in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Oshkosh at a later date. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in memory of Irene B. Uttech. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
