The season is quickly winding down for the Waupaca boys’ golf team.
The Comets competed in four Eastern Valley Conference meets the past week, including the conference meet Wednesday, May 16.
Waupaca was one of three teams that shot a 175 Monday, May 14, at Winneconne’s Lake Breeze Golf Club.
Fox Valley Lutheran won the meet with a 165, followed by Appleton Xavier (170) and Waupaca, Little Chute and Winneconne (175).
Ben Stone and Logan Walters led Waupaca with a 43, while Shaun Plunkett and Max Hanson carded a 44 and 45, respectively.
The Comets also shot a 181 Friday, May 11, at a five-team meet at Clintonville’s Riverside Golf Club.
Other team scores were Ripon (156), Berlin (158), Xavier (179) and Clintonville (186).
Scores for Waupaca were Stone (42), Hanson (43), Grant Stearns and Plunkett (48) and Walters (51).
Waupaca’s junior varsity team shot a 198. Scores were Turner Kelly (44), Frankie Ellingson (46) and Ryan Johnston and Tom Shambeau (54).
Waupaca also shot a 186 Tuesday, May 10, at Neenah’s Ridgeway Golf Club.
Other team scores were Berlin (161), Xavier (162), Ripon (174) and Freedom (179).
Waupaca’s scores were Hanson (43), Stone (46), Stearns (48) and Plunkett and Walters (49).
The Comet JV team shot a 193. Team scores were Parker Kantos (45), Kelly (47), Jordon Williams (49) and Ellingson (52).
