Bean, Charles R. (Charlie)

Charles R. (Charlie) Bean, Jr., age 74, of Royalton, WI, passed away on Saturday, May 26th, 2012 at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca, WI. He was born in Stevens Point, WI, on February 14, 1938, a son of the late Charles R. and Emma M. (Barden) Bean Sr. His mother brought him home in a big valentine heart from the hospital. Charlie attended grades 1-8 at Linwood School which was a one room schoolhouse. He graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in Stevens Point in 1956. Charlie served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 until 1959, spending most of his time in Turkey. He worked at Gullikson Chevrolet and Cadillac Dealer, R & R Soo Line, Whiting Mill-Millwright Program in Stevens Point, WI Lift in Green Bay, Pauly Cheese company in Green Bay, Curwood in New London, Kimtech in Neenah and RE & D in New London. He was a jack of all trades and master of all. Charlie had the knack to turn something someone would toss out in the garbage into a beautiful diamond. He loved to work on classic cars, wood working, spending time with his family and friends, good food and dining out, fishing and flying out to the west coast and driving an old car or truck home. Charlie married Kathy Glisczynski in 1959, they later divorced. He then married Helen Peterson in 1983, they later divorced. Survivors include his daughter, Nichole (special friend – Rodney Baumann) Bean, Watertown, WI; son-in-law, Pete Kuklinski; step-daughter, Linda (Tony) Abitz and family; step-son, Paul (fiance-Peggy Moline) Peterson and family. Charlie is further survived by numerous friends and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Services were held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca at 11 AM on Friday, June 1st, 2012, with Reverend Larry Gross officiating. Interment and Military Honors were held at 2:30 PM on Friday at Linwood Union Cemetery, Town of Linwood, Portage Co, WI. Visitation was held on Thursday, from 4 until 8 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca and on Friday, from 9 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Riverside Medical Center Staff, Theda Care at Home Hospice and all of Charlie’s friends that helped him through this difficult time.
