Lipke, Marcella M.

Marcella M. Lipke, age 85, of Waupaca, WI, passed away on Wednesday, June 6th, 2012 in Madison, WI. She was born in Rush Lake, WI, on May 27, 1927, a daughter of the late Stannish and Ella (Schliepp) Hoppa. Marcella’s first marriage was to Arliegh Rogers. They later divorced. She then married Wayne H. Lipke on May 13, 1967 at St. John’s Lutheran Church – Baldwins Mill. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Marcella worked for over 30 years at the Zwicker Knitting Mill in Waupaca. She loved to polka and go bowling. She also did a lot of sewing, making pillows, etc., for gifts. Survivors include her children: Judy (David) Melby, Scandinavia, WI; Barbara (Franklin) Gardner, Woodstock, GA; Dennis (Donna) Rogers, Nekoosa, WI; 14 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; sisters: Violet Krell, Winneconne, WI; Rita Laurence, Janesville, WI; two step-sons; special friend, Arden Lueck. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marcella was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wayne, 3 sisters, 6 brothers-in-law and two sons-in-law, Donald Grogan and Arthur Karpinski. Funeral Services were at St. John’s Lutheran Church – Baldwins Mill, Weyauwega at 10:30 AM on Monday, June 11th, 2012, with Reverend Roger Nielsen officiating. Interment was at Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Town of Farmington, Waupaca Co, WI. Visitation was held on Sunday from 4 – 8 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca and on Monday, from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at the church.
