Police searching for suspect in home invasion

New London police are seeking information on a burglary that occurred shortly after midnight Tuesday, Aug. 14.

A couple living on Spurr Road in New London told police they had been sleeping at the time of the break in.

The wife heard a noise inside the house at about midnight and got up to investigate. Finding nothing unusual, she went back to bed.

Approximately 20 minutes later she heard another noise and woke her husband, who then went to investigate.

The husband found a light on downstairs and saw a tall, skinny man flee from the residence in a southeast direction.

The husband then advised the wife to call police and went in pursuit of the fleeing male. He was unable to locate him and met with police upon their arrival.

The search continued for the next three hours with the assistance of two K-9 units from the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Department and the Clintonville Police Department. Evidence was recovered from the burglary in neighboring yards but the suspect was not located.

Recovered evidence is currently being processed for DNA as well as fingerprints. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident. An investigation is ongoing.

Citizens are asked to call the New London Police Department at 920-982-8505 if they have any information on this crime.
