President ignores laws he doesn’t like

Remember what a battle we had getting welfare reform enacted?

Bill Clinton ran as a welfare reformer in 1992 to “end welfare as we know it.”

Of course, once he was elected, he increased funding for the traditional welfare programs and forgot about reform.

In 1994, Republicans took the house and started sending him welfare reform bills, which he vetoed, twice.

Once he saw he could lose re-election if he vetoed welfare reform a third time, he signed the third reform bill.

This changed AFDC to temporary assistance to needy families.

The new law set a five-year limit on welfare and required able-bodied recipients to work. Welfare cases declined 70 percent by the time President Barack Obama took office.

Obama now appears to override all this hard-won progress and allows bedrest, journaling and smoking cessation to qualify as meeting the work requirement.

Why would he do such a thing?

First, he doesn’t respect the rule of law. Also, he is building a client base to vote for Democrats in the future.

He has 49 percent of Americans paying no federal income tax and almost as many on some federal assistance program.

He wants to take from earners and use the money to buy votes. That what leftists do.

The most troubling thing about granting waivers from work requirements is that the welfare reform law specifically states the work requirement can’t be waived.

Obama is getting into the habit of ignoring the laws he doesn’t like. When he does this, he violates the oath of office.

He unconstitutionally granted amnesty to over a million illegal aliens. He has no authority to do this.

He gets a letter every year from Medicare advising him Medicare will go broke if changes aren’t made. The law requires him to propose some solution within 15 days.

Every year, he ignores this obligation in violation of the law and violates his oath.

Obama doesn’t deserve re-election. He deserves to be impeached of multiple, ongoing violations of the laws he swore to uphold.
