Young, Scott Gerard

Scott Gerard Young, 52, of Eagle Colo. and owner of R&H Mechanical, passed away July 4, 2012 in an accidental drowning in the Colorado River. Scott was born on May 21, 1960, the fifth of 10 children, in Great Falls, Mont., to Darlene Young, his mother, his rock and strength. He graduated from Waupaca High School where he was raised on a farm, and learned to ride, fish and enjoy the outdoors with a list that most people will never know. He went to La Crosse tech school where he learned the HVAC trade and worked in New York City before moving to Colorado to start R&H Mechanical with his brother David. What a journey this business brought him, his family and every person he met in between. Scott met and married the love of his life, Cathy Free Young, on June 10, 1995. They have two of the most beautiful daughters in the world – Brianna, 14, and Kaitlyn, 10. He loved his girls with the same passion that he lived life. He was the best dad in the whole world and taught his girls there was nothing they could not do. Scott loved life and lived it to the fullest, wind surfing was a sport he excelled in along with golf, fly fishing, horse back riding, snowboarding skiing and flying his airplane – it was the wind beneath his wings. Scott injected a positive atmosphere that he would want every one to carry with them. A son, father, husband, brother, true friend, mentor and adventure seeker! He will continue to touch the lives of all he knew through his passion for life. Scott is survived by his best friend, world traveler and beautiful wife, Cathy Young, daughter, Brianna, who brought so much pride and joy to Scott’s heart, and his adventurer and fearless daughter who kept him always on his toes, Kaitlyn.
