Lady Bulldogs tie for second

The Lady Bulldogs hosted a volleyball invitational Tuesday, Aug. 21, placing second.

Ashwaubenon took first (4-0), while New London, Green Bay East, and Central Wisconsin Christian tied for second (2-2). Manawa was third (0-4).

The Lady Bulldogs knocked off Central Wisconsin Christian by scores of 25-20 and 25-22. They then lost to Ashwaubenon by scores of 23-25 and 15-25. New London also lost to Green Bay East by scores of 25-16, 21-25, and 12-15. The Lady Bulldogs finished up by beating Manawa by scores of 25-9, 15-25, and 15-7.

Alanna Beyer had 22 digs, while Racheal Huebner had 12 to go with two aces and 14 kills. Emily Wilfuer had six digs, 22 assists, five aces, and eight kills. Caleigh Shaw had three digs, three aces, and 22 kills. Haley Steffanus had 10 digs, two aces, and two kills.

As a team, the Lady Bulldogs had 23 aces, 47 attack kills, 25 block kills, 29 assists, and 83 digs during the invitational.

New London also participated in the Freedom Quad on Monday, Aug. 27. The Bulldogs beat Freedom and Shiocton but lost to Wrightstown.

Beyer had 14 digs, while Huested had eight and Steffanus had seven. Caleigh Shaw had 17 attack kills, while Quinter added nine and Huebner had eight. Wilfuer had 38 assists.

As a team, New London had 10 aces, 51 attack kills, nine block kills, 45 assists and 54 digs.
