Kern, Gaila M.

Gaila M. Kern, age 89 years, of Clintonville passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at her home. The former Gaila Mae Doman was born on February 1, 1923 in Royalton, Wisconsin, to William and Mabel (Sawall) Doman. She was united in marriage to Robert Conn in Waupaca. Gaila worked for some time at the Toy Factory in Hortonville and also did baby sitting out of her home for many years. On January 25, 1969 she married Stanley E. Kern at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Stephensville. Her memberships included St. Rose Catholic Church and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Gaila liked bowling, playing cards, sewing her children’s clothing, and knitting mittens along with many other items. She especially enjoyed traveling around the country and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Stanley, and three daughters: Pat Ruckdashel of Embarrass, Carol Lingnofski of Menasha, and Leanna Lorge of Clintonville. There are 7 grandchildren: Tracie Ruckdashel, Tim Ruckdashel, Kurt (Anna) Stoeger, Corey (Yvonne) Prinsen, Michelle (Eric) May, Heather (Damon) Conn-Roberts, and Tara Conn. There are 16 great grandchildren: Lyndsey, Dustyn, McKenzie, Cameron, Alex, Bailey, Grant, Chase, Connor, Caden, Amanda, Holly, Kurt Jr., Madison, Payton, and Chase. Gaila is further survived by three great-great grandchildren, Skyler, Abbey and Ezzy, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jeff Conn; a granddaughter, Dawn Marie Stoeger; a great granddaughter, Jordynne; three sons-in-law, Robert Ruckdashel, Mike Lingnofski and Gerald Lorge; two sisters, Alice (Lester) Abraham and Mildred (Howard) Oertel; and two brothers, Myron (Shirley) Doman and Vernon (Velma) Doman. A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 15th at 12 Noon at the Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville. Lincoln Wood, St. Rose Parish Director, officiated and inurnment will be at Mosquito Hill Cemetery, New London. Online condolences may be sent via www.beil-didier.com.
