Phantoms haunt Bulldogs

The West De Pere Phantoms showed why they are the two-time defending state champions as they dismantled the New London Bulldogs 65-0 on Friday, Sept. 28.

The Phantoms scored 19 points in the first quarter and added 32 in the second quarter to lead 51-0 at halftime.

West De Pere didn’t score in the third quarter, but piled on 14 more points in the fourth quarter.

West De Pere picked up 22 first downs, while new London had just four. The Phantoms gained 533 net yards, while New London netted just six yards. West De Pere rushed 50 times for 388 yards, while New London ran 25 times for minus five yards.

The Phantoms gained 145 yards through the air, while the Bulldogs passed for 11 yards.

Bill Pence led the Bulldogs with 17 yards on 13 carries. Dylan Keehn completed three of 17 pass attempts for 11 yards with one interception.

New London travels to Oconto Falls on Friday, Oct. 5. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
