Two area volleyball teams still alive

Two area volleyball teams will play for a regional championship Saturday, Oct. 20.

No. 2 seed Weyauwega-Fremont will host No. 3 Menasha St. Mary Central in Division 3, while No. 4 Hortonville will host No. 5 Appleton North in Division 1. Both matches are scheduled to get under way at 7 p.m.

Sectionals in all four divisions will begin with semifinal play Thursday, Oct. 25.

If Weyauwega-Fremont wins a regional championship, the Indians would play No. 1 Oconto or No. 5 Shiocton at 7 p.m. in Gillett. If Hortonville defeats Appleton North, the Polar Bears would face No. 1 De Pere or No. 8 Kaukauna at 6 p.m. in Ashwaubenon.

Sectional finals are set for Saturday, Oct. 27. Weyauwega-Fremont’s sectional final will be played in Marathon at 7 p.m., while Hortonville’s is at 7 p.m. in Sun Prairie.
