Schroeder, Elnora

Elnora Schroeder, age 98 of Weyauwega, went to her heavenly home surrounded by her family on Monday, October 15, 2012. She was born on February 18, 1914 in Hortonville, daughter of the late Henry and Lydia (Heger) Gallow. She was united in marriage to Erich H. Schroeder in 1935 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hortonville, where she was also baptized and confirmed. He preceded her in death in August 1967. She is survived by her children: Fred (Verdell) Schroeder, Billings, MT; Richard (Gwynn) Schroeder, Waupaca; Willy Schroeder, Weyauwega; Patricia Frechette, Weyauwega; Gloria King, Oshkosh; Marlene Mielke, Oshkosh; Sharon Rutter, Weyauwega; Sandra (Raymond) Claussen, Ogdensburg; a loving sister, Laura Zerbel, Appleton. She is further survived by 23 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 8 great great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Elnora was preceded in death by her husband, mother and father, father and mother-in-law, William and Magdelina Schroeder, 3 brothers, 3 sisters, a grandson, Mark Claassen, 4 sons-in-law: Lyle Frechette, Lyle Rutter, Wayne King and Jack Mielke. Mom most cherished family and faith. She enjoyed reading, crossword and word search books and jigsaw puzzles as well as tea time with her girls. She was a faithful member of St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church, Weyauwega for 62 years. She enjoyed special friendships during the years she lived at Riverbend Manor. The Christian Funeral for Elnora was held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 18, 2012 at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church, 312 W. Main Street, Weyauwega, with Rev. Dennis Lemke and Rev. Newlin Schafer. Friends called directly at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment took place in the Dale Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for St. Peter Lutheran Church, Building on the Rock and for Missions. Mom’s family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice for their comfort and loving care of Mom and for the support and kindness showed Mom’s children. The family also wishes to thank Mom’s neighbors and friends at Riverbend Manor for their care and concern.
