Thiel, Rena (Radichel)

Rena (Radichel) Thiel passed away at Riverside Medical Center, Waupaca, Wisconsin on October 16, 2012 at the age of 97. She was the daughter of John and Emma (Sattler) Radichel. She was born in the Town of Bloomfield, Waushara County, on May 16, 1915. She was baptized on June 6, 1915, confirmed on April 1, 1928, and married at Christ Ev. Lutheran Church, West Bloomfield where she was a lifelong member. She was a member of the choir and Ladies Aid. Her church was her life. She was a wonderful, caring person who always had a beautiful smile for everyone. She attended the Wendt Public School and Christ Ev. Lutheran School. She married Lester W. Thiel on May 24, 1939. He preceded her in death on October 24, 1994. They farmed on her home farm in West Bloomfield and on December 16, 1989 they moved to Poy Sippi. Rena enjoyed the farm animals, poultry, garden and flowers. Rena moved to Weyauwega on March 19, 2000 where she and her sister, Evelyn Robbert, resided together along with her beloved pet Muffy. She moved to Weyauwega Health Care Center on August 15, 2012. She is survived by her niece, Marian (Roger) Boushley, Weyauwega, Wisconsin; sisters-in-law, Lorna Johannes, Tarpon Springs, Florida; Virginia Thiel, New London, Wisconsin; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester, parents, sister and brother-in-law, Edwin and Evelyn Robbert, brothers-in-law, Ken Johannes and Elmer Thiel. Funeral services were held at Christ Ev. Lutheran Church, West Bloomfield on Saturday October 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Brian Beardsley officiating. Visitation was held at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Weyauwega on Friday from 4-7 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Weyauwega, Wisconsin.
