Dunbar, Mayme E.

Mayme E. Dunbar, Waupaca, WI, age 99, died on Monday, October 29, 2012 at the Crystal River Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Waupaca. She was born on June 1, 1913 in the Township of Dayton, Waupaca County, WI, the daughter of Harry and Iva (Wing) Testin. She married Elmer M. Dunbar on November 2, 1931 in the Township of Dayton, Waupaca County, WI. He preceded her in death on December 5, 1990. Mayme is survived by her daughters: Gladys (Lloyd) Moder of Hortonville; Caroline (Leonard) Guthu of Waupaca; and Annette Koss of Waupaca; her son, Harley (Sue) Dunbar of Waupaca; 11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and her sister, Arlene Green of Waupaca. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; two sons, Leland and Darrel Dunbar, a granddaughter, Marsha Timm; her parents, a brother, and two sisters. Mayme was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Waupaca for many years, and was a very active leader with the United Methodist Women and in other areas of the church. She had been employed as a sales clerk for the former Schultz’s 5 & 10 in Waupaca for 30 years. She had also been a member of a nationwide group called People to People, and had traveled to Europe with that group on four separate occasions. A funeral service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Waupaca, WI on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend Cathy J.N. Weigand, officiating. Interment will be in the Crystal Lake Cemetery, Township of Dayton, Waupaca County, WI. A visitation will be held at the church on Thursday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to the Crystal Lake Cemetery Association in memory of Mayme E. Dunbar. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
