Caldwell, Columbus (Clum)

Columbus (Clum) Caldwell, age 83, of Waupaca, WI passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at
his residence under the care of hospice. Columbus was born in the Town of Dayton, Waupaca County
on September 24, 1929, the son of the late Clifford W. and Hazel (Testin) Caldwell. On May 8, 1954,
Clum married Rosemarie Butolph in Almond, WI. He was a mechanic, gunsmith and a woodworker.
Clum loved wood and metal lathes, working on guns, fishing muskies and bluegills and working on
machinery. He truly was a Jack of all trades. He especially loved his music (Accordion), playing cards
and all his cars. His friends and neighbors were very dear to him. He is survived by his children: June
Holiday, Waupaca; George (Ann) Caldwell, Waupaca; Margaret (Nick) Wozniak, Waupaca and Gloria
(Walter) Tankersley, Waupaca; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; his brother, Jimmy (Marilyn)
Caldwell, Bellview, Iowa and his sisters: Arlene Caldwell, Waupaca; Linda (Sam) Forseth, Pine River and
Shirley (Oscar (Eddie) Thompson, Pine River and his lifelong Companion, Rosemarie Caldwell, Waupaca.
Clum is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 great
grandchildren, his brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Kip) Zimmerman and Jerome Butolph and his in-laws, Fred
and Lillian Butolph. The Funeral Service for Clum will be on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 10:30 AM
at Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca with Brenda Hewitt, officiating. Burial will follow in the Crystal Lake
Cemetery, Town of Dayton. Visitation will be on Monday evening from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home
and also on Tuesday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of services.
