Kempf Benefit slated for Dec. 1

A benefit for the Daniel Kempf family will be held Saturday, Dec. 1 at Bear Lake Campground and Resort in Manawa. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and runs until midnight.

Due to a weakness in his heart, Kempf has been forced to take an indefinite leave from work. Tammy, his wife of 31 years, is a teacher’s aide in the Manawa School District, and has two other jobs. She has been forced to take many days off of work to attend doctor visits and care for her husband, putting the family in financial hardship. Despite having three jobs, the family doesn’t have medical benefits.

The fundraiser will include auctions, silent auctions, a spin-to-win wheel and other drawings. Gift certificates and prizes will also be available.
