WMS bands set for winter concerts

Waupaca Middle School students will present seasonal music during two 7:30 p.m. concerts in the auditorium.

The sixth-grade band will perform Tuesday, Dec. 18, and the seventh- and eighth-grade bands perform Thursday, Dec. 20.

The bands are directed by Greg Biba and Shana Rogney.

Both concerts are free and open to the public.

The sixth-grade band will play “Gingerbread Men on Parade” by Len Orcino, “Featuring the Band” by Sandy Feldstein and John O’Reilly, “Uncle Buck’s Truck” by Ed Huckeby, “Santa’s Holiday Favorites” arranged by James Swearingen, and “Tons Of Tunes” holday selections in which every section of the band will be featured.

The seventh-grade band will be performing a variety of selections, including “Holiday Snippets” by Robert Sheldon; “Mystic Legacy” by Larry Clark; “Lullaby for Christmas” arr. by Sandy Feldstein and Larry Clark, “Eine Kleine Christmas”, arr. by Larry Clark, and “Jingle Bell Rock”, arranged by John Edmondson.

The eighth-grade band will play “A Christmas Scrapbook” arranged by Dave Black, which includes “Carol of The Bells,” “O Holy Night,” “March of The Toy Soldiers,” and “God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen.” Also included is Mel Torme’s “The Christmas Song,” “Jingle Jazz” by David Shaffer, “Night Journey” by Chris Bernotas, and to complete the evening will be Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas” in which both bands will combine.
