The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for much of Wisconsin, including Waupaca County,
Beginning tonight through Thursday, a major winter storm is moving across central Wisconsin. The storm is expected to bring heavy snow and strong winds, causing hazardous driving conditions.
From 8 to 12 inches of snow are expected to accumulate between 3 a.m. and midnight Thursday.
Winds gusting from 20 to 40 mph on Thursday may cause blowing and drifting of the snow, further hampering travel.
Gov. Scott Walker has declared a state of emergency in the state of Wisconsin in order to mobilize emergency services.
