Library to show classic film

Dr. Jack Rhodes will present another Hollywood classic at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at the Waupaca Area Public Library.

Due to copyright restrictions, the library cannot publicize the name of the film. However, this 1951 romantic comedy will be familiear to fans of Doris Day.

Based on the Penrod stories of Booth Tarkington and directed by Roy Del Ruth, the movie is a musical set in a small town in Indiana. Doris Day plays a tomboy who falls love with the boy next door, played by Gordon MacRae. The cast includes Leon Ames, Rosemary DeCamp and Billy Gray.

The show is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be available at no charge.
