David J. Young, age 74, Bear Creek, died on Friday, January 4, 2013.
David was born on August 29, 1938, in New London, son of the late John and Julia (Lorge) Young. He was united in marriage to Joan Malliet on October 1, 1957. She preceded him in death in 2000. He was devoted to his kids and will be deeply missed. David was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bear Creek and was a devoted Catholic.
He is survived by his children: Jean (Steven) Volz, Manitowoc; John Young, Bear Creek; Jerald Young, Shawano; James (Lana) Young, Appleton; Jacqueline (William) Resch, Mattoon; Janet (Andrew) Evenson, Bonduel; Joline (Gerald) Wescovich, Ocean Springs, Mississippi; Donna (Thomas) Douglas, Fayetteville, North Carolina; Denice Ketchum, Federal Way, Washington; Debra Young (fiancee, Michael Leamy), Elizabethtown, Kentucky; Darla (Jason) Pingel, New London; two brothers, Norbert (Liz) Young, New London; Martin (Snooky) Young, New London and a sister, Zita (David) Williams, Marion. He is further survived by 26 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two grandchildren, Veronica Perez and Kayla Douglas.
Funeral Mass for David was held on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bear Creek. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Visitation was held at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home on Monday, January 7, 2013, from 4-7 p.m. and also at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
