Danielson, Aldo H.

Aldo Harris Danielson, 94, Iola, died Monday, January 14th, 2013 at Iola Living Assistance.

Aldo was born March 30, 1918 to Oscar and Helga (Peterson) Danielson. He was born at his parent’s farm home in Navarino, Wisconsin. Aldo’s mother passed away when he was four years old. He made his home in various places until he was through high school. He attended Ware Country School and Waupaca High School. Aldo married Amanda Regina Louison, of Amherst, Wisconsin on October 3, 1942 in Scandinavia, Wisconsin. They were the proud parents of a daughter, Marian Ann. For many many years Aldo farmed. He was employed at Morning Glory Creamery in Iola and at the time lived in Iola. Aldo built a fourplex apartment on 115 S. Harrison Street, Waupaca. In 1984 upon retirement Aldo and Amanda moved to an apartment in their fourplex. Amanda preceded him in death in June,1987. On September 3, 1988, Aldo married Evelyn A. Olson in Iola and resided at 460 S. Main Street. Aldo was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church of Iola, the Iola Historical Society and the Men’s Birthday Breakfast Club. He was an enthusiastic gardener and yard man at their home. He enjoyed travel trips. He was a willing helper. Aldo spent his last few months as a resident of Iola Living Assistance.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn of Iola; a daughter, Marian Ann Jole, Wautoma, and a sister, Helen Danielson, Appleton; three grandchildren: Deanna (Michael) Hirte, Weyauwega; Debra Potts, Waupaca, and Daniel Potts, Neenah; three great grandchildren: Gary, Daniel, and Randy Hirte. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Aldo is further survived by three stepsons, Dr. Carter (Reta) Olson, Columbus, Ohio; Gordon Olson, Milwaukee, and Wayne Olson, Appleton. He is also survived by eight step grandchildren and nine step great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a son-in-law Rev. Norman Jole; brothers, Leo and Oris (Virginia) Danielson; sister, Florence (Everett) Stenshorn.

Funeral Services will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, in Iola, at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 18th, with Reverend Dennis Olson officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 9:30 AM until the time of service at the church. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Iola, Wisconsin.
