Alice C. Harris, age 92 of Ripon, formerly of Waupaca, passed away Monday, January 21, 2013 at Ripon Medical Center.
Alice was born on September 20, 1920, in Waupaca, WI, the daughter of Chris and Madeline (Howe) Josie. Alice married the late Forest Harris on October 21, 1939 in Waupaca, WI. She was a member of Crystal Lake United Methodist Church and Waupaca Historical Society. Alice lived in Waupaca about 80 years with all but 3 years of those 80 on the family farm Northeast of Waupaca. She attended 8 grades at the Constance Grade School with Mabel Porter as her teacher. At the age of 80 and after a lifelong desire to get her high school diploma, she went back to school at Fox Valley Tech and earned her diploma. She had a strong interest in genealogy, she volunteered at Holly History Center, the Veterans Home at King and also at Riverside Hospital. Alice enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling.
Alice is survived by: daughter, Nancy (Harold) Wiese, Ripon, WI; 7 grandchildren, Jeffrey (Carolyn) Faulks, Cheryl (Noyce) Strait, Jacci Stumke, Howard (Marion) Wiese, Douglas (Kathy) Wiese, Jennifer Conrey, and Bryan (Tina) Wiese; 12 great-grandchildren: Zachariah, Alexander, Marshall, Justin, Abagail, Mason, Amanda, Timothy, Karisa, Kody, Bayden and Draten; sister-in-law, Verna Josie; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband (Forest), brothers, Orb and Vernon, and sister, Marjorie.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, January 25th, at Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca. Pastor Jeff Fletcher is officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10 am until time of services at Noon. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Waupaca. Online condolences available at www.hollyfuneralhome.com
