Elliott, Alvin E.

Alvin E. Elliott, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, surrounded by his family.

He was born on October 24, 1924, son of the late Earl and Martha (Reed) Elliott. On October 24, 1944 he married Luella M. Ingram in Townsend, Wisconsin. Their 68-year marriage was blessed with four daughters and one son. Alvin is a graduate of Wabeno High School and worked for many years as a cheese maker, before moving to the Fox Valley to begin a career in the paper industry, eventually retiring from Glatfelter Paper Corp. as a supervisor. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling, reading, listening to music, and most of all, time spent with his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Luella; his children: Jane (Thomas) Zempel, Cary, NC; Robert (Karen) Elliott, Colorado Springs, CO; Ruth (David) Ihrig, Oshkosh; LouAnn (Brian) Doolittle, Neenah; Terri (Steven) Quella, Mosinee; twelve grandchildren: Jonathan (Renee) Zempel, Benjamin Zempel, Amy (Neil) Hazard, Jennifer Elliott, Katie (Ryan) Van Scyoc, Caleb (Angie) Ihrig, Molly Ihrig, Joseph Doolittle, James Doolittle, Gregory Quella, Gavin (fiancee Kaylin Mattson) Quella, Julia Quella; seven great grandchildren: Sophia, Noah, Elise, and Megan Zempel, Grant and Wesley Hazard, and Hunter Ihrig. He is also survived by his sister, JoAnn Elliott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Pfeifer.

The Funeral service for Alvin will be held on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at Neenah’s Westgor Funeral Home with Rev. Jon Payne officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of service. Memorial contributions will be sent to Crescent Lake Bible Camp. The family thanks the staff at Touchmark, Theda Clark Hospital and Cherry Meadows Hospice for the tender care provided for their father.
