Hintzke, John “Snap” P.

John “Snap” Hintzke, age 66, New London, died on Monday, February 11, 2013.

Snap was born on July 10, 1946, in New London son of John and Elaine (Knapp) Hintzke. On June 28, 1969, he was united in marriage to Sharon Van Straten in New London. He owned and operated Hintzke Well Drilling in New London for many years. Snap enjoyed hobby farming, shack hopping during the hunting season, and watching westerns and war movies. He served his country as a field medic in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife Sharon; father John, New London; three sons: J.J. (Wendy) Hintzke, New London, Jay P. Hintzke, New London and Jason (Lindsey) Hintzke, New London; two brothers, Jim (Jeannie) Hintzke, New London and Jan (Anita) Hintzke, Altoona; a sister Judith Walker-Jensen, LaCrosse; and 5 grandchildren: Jaid, Johnny, Josie, Jalaina, and Jackson. He is further survived by an Uncle Frances Hintzke and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. His mother Elaine, an infant brother Jay and father and mother in-law, Donald (Marvella) Van Straten preceded him in death.

Funeral mass for Snap will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, New London with Fr. Arul Joseph Irudamoney officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation was held at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and also at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
