Seventh grader wins W-F spelling bee

Cadyn Ehrenberg was the winner of the Weyauwega-Fremont district spelling bee.

Camryn Hintz was the runner up, and Alex Bartel received third place.

Both are eighth graders.

The Feb. 15 competition went 11 rounds.

The championship word for Ehrenberg, who is a seventh grader at W-F Middle School, was “frankincense.”

Students in grades five through eight competed in classroom competitions to determine grade-level contestants, who then competed at the district level.

The other contestants were fifth graders Josie Stocker, Chandler Logan, Andrew Looker and Julia Rice; sixth graders Natalie Schneider, Abby Wheaton and Keagan Thurber; seventh graders Sarah Rohm, Tatum Williams and Kiley Akey; and eighth grader Kimberly Gilbert.
