St. Peter Lutheran to hold groundbreaking

St. Peter Lutheran Church in Weyauwega will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on Sunday, March 31 for its new school building and church narthex.

It will be held at approximately 11:30 a.m., following the 10:30 a.m. Easter service.

Services will also be held at 6:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. that day.

Members of the congregation will gather outdoors for the brief ceremony, which will include the pastors, church councilmen and members of

the various “Building on the Rock” committees breaking the ground and turning the soil to signify the beginning of construction.

Weyauwega residents and the community at large are invited to attend.

The new St. Peter School will include classrooms, a gymnasium, cafeteria and commons.

Offices for both the school and church will be situated between the school and the church narthex.

The architect for the project is Excel Engineers of Fond du Lac, and the general contractor is Catalyst Construction.

WELS Builders For Christ will provide volunteer help.

Construction will take place throughout the summer and fall.

Plans call for the teachers and students to move into their new classrooms for the second semester of the 2013-2014 academic year.
