Waupaca FFA advancing to state

Several members of the Waupaca FFA brought first- and second-place awards home from the Section VIII Speaking and Career Development Contest held Thursday, March 7, in Oconto Falls.

Morgan Eilers and Nicole Jacowski both competed in the job interview contest with Jacowski earning first place.

Hannah Piencikowski and Eilers participated in the extemporaneous speaking contest with Piencikowski taking second and Eilers taking first place.

Ryan Esch participated in the FFA creed contest. Jessica Allen participated in the discussion contest.

The parliamentary procedure team earned first place at the event.

Team members are Austin Zempel, Ellyssa Grant, Morgan Orr, Mikayla Martin, Brittany Timm, Melissa Nelson and Jared Borntrager. They are coached by Stuart Johnson and Reid Ewing.

The middle school quiz bowl team also placed first. Team members are Larkin Hooker-Moericke, Taylor Eilers, Jenna Pagel, Stephanie Cleaves and Erin Montgomery.

All Waupaca FFA members who earned first place will compete at the Wisconsin State FFA Convention on June 11.
