Positive sportsmanship report for Clintonville

The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association declared a positive sportsmanship report was made regarding a boys basketball game held in Clintonville on Jan. 15.

The announcement was made in an email received from Clintonville High School Activities Director Adam Englebretson on Wednesday, March 20.

The game featured the Weyauwega-Fremont Indians versus the Clintonville Truckers.

“This was a great game to officiate and to be a part of,” wrote reporting official Matt Peterson. “At the pre-game captains’ meeting, we reviewed the importance of sportsmanship. The captains and their teammates demonstrated good sportsmanship at the highest level. Both teams played hard, hustled after the basketball and hustled on and off the basketball court. Players played and coaches coached the way basketball was meant to be at the high school level. Also, the job done by school personnel before, during, and after the game was great.”
