Hielsberg, Elaine Doris

Elaine D. Hielsberg, age 93, New London was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Kindred Hearts, New London with her family by her side.

Elaine was born in Crystal Lake, WI to Henry and Irene (Teske) Floeter. On August 10, 1941, she married Neil Hielsberg with whom she spent almost 64 years. Elaine was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary Post 10407 and was a member of the St. Paul’s Ladies Aid in Dale. She later became a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London. Elaine loved to cook, bowl, crochet afghans for all her children and grand children and spend time with her family and friends. She was a two time breast cancer survivor. Mom’s most precious possessions were her kids.

Elaine is survived by 6 children: Jean Burchell, Altoona, IA; Sandy Dietzen, Menasha; Rodger (Sandy) Hielsberg, New London; Mary (Jeff) Bruette, Fremont; Sue (Scott) Byrum, New London and Sharon (Dennis) Doro, Neenah. Eighteen grandchildren: John (Darlene), Jeff (Illyse), Julie, Rick (Susie), Randy (Debbie), Rod (Christine), Heath (Judy), Heather (Jared), Justin (Kisoon), Mike (Tara), Kim (Pete), Josh, Amanda (Justin), Kristie (Steven), Terry, Matt (Addy), Ashley, Guner. Twenty-two great grandchildren: Neil, Shannon, William, Valerie, Ian, Andrew (Shauna), Jordan, Amanda, Evan, Walker, Gavyn, Lucas, David, Frank, Alex, Kendra, Kenleigh, Sydnee, Jordyn, Dylan, Jakob, and Connor and 3 great, great, grandchildren, Bryan, Shawn and Gracie. Elaine is further survived by nieces, nephews, special cousin Elnora Stapleton and many friends at Kindred Hearts, including Oscar. She was preceded in death by her husband Neil, her parents, a sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Earl Wollert and a granddaughter, Patricia.

Funeral services will be held for Elaine on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at 12:00 p.m. noon at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London with Rev. Marcus Schulz officiating. Visitation will be held at the church Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Dale Union Cemetery. Elaine’s family would like to extend their thanks to the nurses and staff at Kindred Hearts and Heartland Hospice for their kindness and compassion given to Elaine and her family.
