Disaster services training offered

Disaster services training will be offered April 22-23 in Waupaca County.

“Disaster Services: An Overview” will be offered in Clintonville and Waupaca.

The free training is provided by the American Red Cross to help communities prevent, prepare and respond to emergencies.

The first training will be held from 5:30-8 p.m. Monday, April 22, at the Clintonville Public Library, 75 Hemlock St., Clintonville.

The second training will be held from 5:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, at the Waupaca Red Cross Office, 418 School St., Waupaca.

This first course is a prerequisite for all other training for disaster volunteers.

The orientation and training will cover the following: Red Cross mission and principles, the disaster response structure (locally and nationally) and an explanation of the different opportunities of involvement within Disaster Services.

After completing the course, volunteers can join the local Disaster Action Team.
