Indians score 24 runs against Bonduel

Weyauwega-Fremont’s softball team gave up seven runs to Bonduel.

However, the Indians were able to put 24 of them on the scoreboard April 15 in a Central Wisconsin 8 Conference win over the Bears.

W-F also handed Waupaca a 15-9 nonconference defeat April 13 despite committing eight errors.

Thirteen runs in the first three innings helped the Indians pick up the win over the Comets.

Waupaca got on the board first with a pair of runs in the top of the first inning, but W-F came up with three in the first, sixth in the second and four in the third to take a 13-3 lead into the fourth inning.

The Comets cut into the lead with three runs in the fifth, two in the sixth and one in the seventh, but the Indians added an insurance run in the fifth and sixth.

Macey Schoenick and Teal Tomaszewski each had four of W-F’s 15 hits, while Mariah Hulbert added a pair. Schoenick also drove in a pair of runs.

Bobbi Sue Sell had three of Waupaca’s nine hits, including a pair of doubles, while Kacey Spoerl chipped in with two hits.

Kelsey Akey picked up the win on the mound and Sell too the loss.

The Indians will host Stevens Point Pacelli today (Thursday, April 18) for a 4:30 p.m. CWC-8 matchup with the Cardinals, while the Comets are scheduled to host Appleton Xavier at 4 p.m. Friday, April 19, for an Eastern Valley Conference doubleheader.
