Waupaca to hold electronics recycling day

The city of Waupaca is partnering with R3new of Appleton to hold an electronics recycling day from 8:30-11 a.m. Saturday, April 27.

It will take place in the parking lot across the street from the Waupaca Recreation Center, on the corner of State and Badger streets.

City and surrounding township residents and businesses may participate.

The event is free of charge, with two exceptions – CRT computer monitors will be $5 each and CRT televisions will be $10 each.

Items accepted at the event include computers and components, televisions, printers, scanners, VCR and DVD players, cellphones, mp3 players, gaming systems, stereos, appliances and batteries.

Items not accepted are physically broken televisions/monitors, broken microwaves, items containing hazardous waste and light bulbs.

Visit the city’s website at www.cityofwaupaca.org for a full list of items which will be accepted.

For those unable to attend the event, there are other opportunities to recycle old electronics.

Waupaca County accepts electronics year-round at its processing and transfer facility in Manawa.
