Bruce Golding dies at age 65

Dayton Town Supervisor Bruce Golding died at his home Sunday, May 5.

Born in Waupaca on Oct. 1, 1947, Golding was a lifelong resident of the area.

He worked for the Waupaca County Highway Department for 40 years before retiring.

Golding was first appointed to the town board in 2008, following the death of Town Chairman Harry Thoms.

He was elected to the town board in 2009 and re-elected in 2011 and 2013.

An avid outdoorsman, Golding was also an advocate for local parks and the Little Hope Mill Pond.

A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, at Maple Crest Funeral Home in Waupaca. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the start of the service Wednesday.
