Salon celebrates anniversary with street dance

Modern Hair Designers, 7 Ninth St, Clintonville, kicks off their 25th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m to 3 p.m., as part of Clintonville’s city wide rummage sale.

The main attraction will be an 80’s Street Dance, featuring a DJ who will spin ’80s tunes.

Haircuts will be offered at ’80s prices all day long, at $5 per haircut.

Also featured are a photo booth, bouncy house and 28-foot slide, face painting, a sumo wrestling area, and a dunk tank, where participants may dunk the city administrator.

A registration will be held, with a chance to win prizes, donated by Modern Hair Designers and other area businesses. The grand prize is a year’s worth of free haircuts.

There will also be a hair care basket awarded to the person with the best 80’s costume.

Food and refreshments will be available.

Sandy Bruette, owner of Modern Hair Designers, Modern Hair Designers II located across the street from Modern Hair Designers and the Hair Connection in Embarrass, said she really wants this to be a fun, family celebration.

“I enjoy what I do and I appreciate all of the wonderful customers that have come in for services throughout the years. I can’t believe it’s been 25 years since we first opened our doors! We’ve come so far. Staying up to date on the trends and being loyal and committed behind the chair is what makes it work. It’s been a lot of hard work, and long days, but it’s all worth it. We are so happy to be in this great city, and are still going strong.”
