Draper, Lynn Alan

Lynn Alan Draper, age 68, passed away at home on Saturday, June 8, 2013, after a courageous battle with an aggressive form of Melanoma cancer.

Lynn was born in Denver, Colorado, on February 6, 1945. He wed the love of his life and best friend, Cindy (Lankford) Draper on October 25, 1969 in Tucson, Arizona. The couple then moved back to Fremont, WI and had their daughter, Jennifer Draper-Genal, (who was the apple of his eye). Lynn considered it a great privilege and honor to be so much more than a “grandfather” to the light of his life, Taylin Draper. Lynn was an extremely skilled log home builder and General Contractor for over 35 years. He enjoyed model railroading and was an active member of the Waupaca Area Model Railroaders Association. Upon retirement, Lynn became a beloved school bus driver for the Weyauwega- Fremont School District and adored watching each child grow through the years. Lynn was extremely grateful for the valued time he spent with family and friends, most recently Keith Cook and Rick O’Connor. Lynn was best known for his love of life, kindness, joyful and entrepreneurial spirit. He and Cindy shared an extraordinary love story that goes beyond any words that may be expressed here. He will live on forever through his grandson, Taylin, and in the memories and hearts of those he leaves behind.

Lynn is survived by his wife and best friend Cindy; his daughter Jennifer Draper-Genal (Keith Cook), his grandson, Taylin Draper; his mother-in-law, Joyce Lankford; and uncle, Dick Lankford, his sister-in-law, Sharon Lankford Wohlt (Jack Wohlt); a niece, Angie Borntrager, a nephew, Travis Lankford; and great-niece and nephew, Jolie and Micah Borntrager. Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Dorothy Draper; his father-in-law, Earl “Butch” Lankford, and his brother-in-law, Guy “Butchie” Lankford.

A visitation service will be held at Lewin’s Funeral Home in Fremont, WI on Thursday, June 13th from 4pm – 7pm
