The U.S. federal government is the most powerful organization on earth.
When that power is abused, it’s a big deal. (No Joe Biden reference).
It’s now clearly established that the IRS is guilty of targeting, profiling, illegally intimidating and frustrating applicants for non-profit status if they held conservative opinions.
At the same time, they fast-tracked other applicants, such as the Barack H. Obama Foundation.
What most don’t realize is that it’s not just the IRS that’s been used to beat down conservatives.
One organization called “True the Vote” made application for non-profit status to teach folks how to observe elections to be sure they were fair.
In response, the federal government audited the woman who made the application and audited her place of business, but the feds didn’t stop with the IRS.
They also sent the FBI, OSHA and others to give her as much trouble as possible.
She was forced to spend $80,000 to defend herself and her business from the 17 government assaults that followed her application.
An American guitar maker let it be known they had conservative views.
The federal government sent SWAT teams to raid the factory, seize computers, take wood used in the guitars and disrupt them as much as possible, under the pretext that the paperwork on some of the wood was not in order. (Machine guns pointed at factory workers).
In short, leading up to the 2012 election, the limitless power of the federal government and its various agencies was used to supress organizations if they stood in the way of Obama’s re-election.
