Beyersdorf, Duane

Duane Glenn Beyersdorf, age 66, of Weyauwega, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, June 23, 2013.

He was born on July 1, 1946, in Waupaca, son of Glenn and Bertha (Schiesser) Beyersdorf. Duane graduated from Marion High School. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy Seabees from June 30, 1964 to July 1, 1967. On December 11, 1971, he was united in marriage to Darlene Handrich at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa. Duane worked at Curwood for a year before moving to Hartford in 1968. While living in Hartford, he worked at Chrysler Outboard, Bayliner Marine, Mercury Marine and Belarus Machinery. In 1992, they moved to Manawa and he worked at the Waupaca Foundry for 16 years retiring on October 25, 2008. Following retirement, he enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandkids. Whether traveling with them or vacationing up north, he just loved being with family. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. Duane and Darlene have been residents of Weyauwega since 2003. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church Waupaca.

He is survived by his wife Darlene; two children, Michael (Andrea) Beyersdorf, Weyauwega; Christine (Scott) Becker, Weyauwega; six grandchildren: Paige Beyersdorf, Cody Becker, Jessica Beyersdorf, Carson Beyersdorf, Katelyn Beyersdorf; step grandchild Mary Perket; mother, Bertha Beyersdorf, Clintonville; brothers: Jerry (Pam) Beyersdorf, Shawano; Ronald (Judy) Beyersdorf, Marion; George (Lavonne) Beyersdorf, Clintonville; sister, Virginia (Everett) Morgan, Scandinavia; sister-in-law, Judy (Kenneth) Bartel, Manawa. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Glenn, in-laws, aunts and uncles.

The funeral service for Duane will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca with Dr. Chuck Tews officiating. Burial will be at Wisconsin Veteran’s Cemetery in King with full Military Honors. A visitation for Duane will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, from 4-7 p.m. at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Weyauwega, and also on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
