Fall sports meeting in Waupaca

A mandatory meeting for any parent/guardian of a Waupaca High School athlete planning to participate in any fall sport has been scheduled.

The meeting will be held at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, in the school’s Performing Arts Center.

Fall sports at WHS are football, volleyball, cross country, boys’ soccer, girls’ golf and cheerleading.

“If you are unable to attend this meeting, you will be required to view a video pertaining to athletics before your child/children are eligible to participate in any athletic program,” WHS athletic director Carl Eggebrecht said.

“A parent/guardian need only attend one meeting per school year regardless of the number of sports your child/children participates in, should it be a fall, winter or spring sport,” he said. “It would be helpful if you bring a writing utensil, your health insurance card and the phone number of two local adults to contact in case of an emergency, as well as the phone number of your physician and dentist.”

Ministry Medical Group and ThedaCare physicians will offer athletic physicals.

Ministry representatives will be at the school at 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, and the cost is $25. ThedaCare will be at the school at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, and the cost is $25.
