Wega library hosts ice cream social

The Weyauwega Public Library will hold its annual Ice Cream Social at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 18.

It will be the culmination of the library’s 100th anniversary celebration.

The event will include a tribute to long-serving librarian Anita Romon by Mary Jane Baehman and her granddaughter Twyla Alix.

Music will be provided by “The Happy Wanderers.”

Those who attend are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for seating as they enjoy cake, ice cream and music.

The tentative rain date is Thursday, July 25.

Also coming up at the library is a water carnival from 3-4 p.m. Tuesday, July 23. It is for children of all ages.

At 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, Sue Vater Olson, from the Scandinavia Public Library, will present a program about the Loggerhead Turtle.

Mad Science Summer with Jim Birkel is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 31. It will include science experiments and plenty of audience participation.
