Stone, Robert H.

Robert “Bob” H. Stone, age 84, of Boynton Beach, FL., formerly of Iola died July 23, 2013 at the Vitas Innovative Care in West Palm Beach, FL.

Bob was born in Iola, WI. on March 6, 1929, son of the late Harlan and Florence (Wright) Stone. He married Grace Langford in Dallas, TX. in 1951. They later divorced. He married Helen Stone in 1981 and they divorced in 2005. Bob went to Stevens Point State Teachers College for one year then joined the Air Force where he retired after 25+ years having served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He lived in San Antonio until 1979 when he moved to Florida and went to work for IBM where he retired again. As a hobby, Bob was a Master Carpenter (like his Pa). He made the most beautiful furniture, furnishing his home, and giving a lot away. He loved to play cards, sheephead with his nephews in Manitowoc and blitz with his kids and grandkids in Texas. Bob was a world traveler and loved to tell stories about the old days, especially growing up on a farm in Iola.

He is survived by: daughters, Iola Christine Stone (DK) Vij and Theresa Lynn Stone; a son, Robert Howard Stone. grandchildren, Kristen Nicole (Bobby) Brown, Christopher Robert (Nicole) Stone, and Wayne and Scotty Vaughn. Bob is further survived by four great grandsons two great granddaughters, and nieces and nephews: Sister Karen Neuser, Jeanette & Glenn, David & Pam Neuser, Paul and Pat Neuser, Gregoryand Diane Neuser, Steven and Lynn Neuser, Mark and Debbie Neuser, Catherine and Gary Dehne, Jeanie Neuser, Sandy and Ed Peters, Robert Adams, Kathleen and Richard Diestler, and Virginia Adams. He was preceded in death by; a grandson, Robert Blaine Stone, two sisters, Blanche and Charlotte and two nieces.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013 @ 12:00 PM at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola with the Rev. Dale Eggert officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment of cremains will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Town of Iola with full military rites. The Voie Funeral Home of Iola assisted the family with arrangements.
