Waupaca library to screen classic film

The Waupaca Area Public Library will continue its roster of First Thursday Films with a famous World War I adventure-romance at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3.

Local film critic Dr. Jack Rhodes will introduce the picture and lead a discussion afterwards. Free popcorn, soft drinks, and theater treats will accompany the free screening. No reservations are required for this program.

The movie, set in the jungles of Africa and filmed largely on location, stars Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn and won an Oscar for Bogart as Best Actor of 1951.

The film is directed by John Huston and co-written by Huston and the well-known movie critic James Agee.

Due to copyright restrictions, the library cannot publicize the name of the film in the newspaper.
